Pulmonary hydatid cyst and successful renal transplantation
Abstract Hydatid cysts are endemic hooknoses in Iran. It may involve various organs of body. Liver is involved in 80% and lung in 10- 15%of cases. 25% of pulmonary hydatid cyst is bilateral. Before any transplantations eradication of infection is necessary. In a 26-year old man with renal failure referred for kidney transplantation. On initial preoperative evaluation of this patient...
متن کاملLeucocyte ATP and renal failure.
1. We have measured adenosine 5'-triphosphate (ATP) levels in isolated leucocyte suspensions from patients with renal failure. 2. Leucocyte ATP is reduced in these patients, unlike erythrocyte ATP which is known to be elevated in uraemia. 3. The relevance of reduced leucocyte ATP to the abnormalities of cation transport and cell function which occur in uraemia is discussed.
متن کاملMicrochimerism and Renal Transplantation: Doubt Still Persists
Background: The Presence of donor leukocytes in recipients of organ allograft has been shown even several years after transplantation. However, it remains unclear whether this donor cell microchimerism plays an effective role in allograft acceptance or is simply a consequence of immunosuppressive conditions in recipients. Objective: To study microchimerism in a group of kidney transplant recipi...
متن کاملLeucocyte migration inhibition in liver disease.
Clinical and histological features provide evidence that immunological reactions of the cell-mediated type are abnormal in some forms of chronic liver disease. By using the leucocyte migration test of Søborg and Bendixen (1967), a correlate of cellular hypersensitivity in vitro, the authors studied the production of the migration inhibitory factor by lymphocytes exposed to a fetal liver homogen...
متن کاملSeizure disorders after renal Transplantation in children
Background and Objective: Some neurologic complications may be detected after renal transplantation in children including tremor, peripheral neuropathy, altered level of consciousness and seizure. The aim of our study was to detect the prevalence of seizure after renal transplantation and its risk factors in pediatric age groups. Methods: In this descriptive study, 102 patients 5-14 yea...
